Biebighauser Bliss

Yeah for getting computer time! We are still hanging in there; looking at any and all even remotely possible houses that come on the market. In the meantime, we are all enjoying the country life (especially Grace, see pictures below). Spring is definitely here -- it's hot and the grass needs major mowing already (why do we live in Texas again?). Other than house looking, not much is going on.

Grace is officially 3 1/2 now, and Lily just turned 9 months old. At Lily's checkup, she weighed 19 pounds, 3 ounces. She is not talking a lot right now, mostly because she's so preoccupied with painful cutting of teeth. But, she did start walking last Thursday, the 7th! She is taking, at most, about 5 or 6 steps, but that's mostly because she won't slow down enough to catch her balance. If she ever figures that out, I am in major trouble!

So I finally was able to upload pictures thru my mom's computer to catch everybody up. They are, mostly, from most recent to oldest, now back through the beginning of April.

Lee and his buddy found this hummingbird nest while out hunting. It is truly amazing -- it is actually smaller than in this picture (about 1 1/2 inches across mouth of nest and about 2 inches top to bottom). The eggs were literally the size of small jellybeans. We were having to stand on a full-size ladder and pull the limb down to see into the top of it, all the while the momma bird was having a conniption fit and zipping up above our heads. She had taken milkweed filaments to line the nest, which is why it looks so soft, and had camouflaged the outside by sticking tree lichens to it. Getting to see that was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for sure, and the awe one felt looking at such beautifully created minutia was special, too. God and his creatures are just that -- awe-inspiring.

Uncle Lon came in and visited last weekend, and this is how he looked the entire time he was indoors -- like he had two little girls attached at the hip!

Who me? In the toilet paper? I have no idea what you are talking about? Look at how cute I am; I would never do such a thing!

Who's more proud? She cried when she saw the turkey. Lee and I panicked thinking that we were going to have to explain all about death and everything having its own time, etc. Turns out she was upset for an entirely different reason. "Daddy, I wanted to go with you to get him!" (sobbing) ;) That really hurt her Daddy's feelings, you know.

When we went to Indiana mid-April, Grace's only request was to ride Esau the donkey again (see blog pics from last April). She was ecstatic, and sister Lily even got in on the action.
