First Day for Lily!

Today was Lily Mae's first day at Stepping Stones preschool. She was in a foul humor this morning, from the moment she found out that we didn't leave to take her to her school at the same early time Grace got to leave for Kindergarten. However, as soon as we got to her school, she was really excited. She remembered, and walked independently straight to, her classroom. We went in, she dumped her backpack, and went immediately to playing with toys. She looked up at me in the doorway, said "Bye, Mamma, this is going to be fun here!" and dismissed me with a wave of her hand! That girl is a hoot.


Little toot did NOT want me to take her picture, but once she cooperated we got some good shots!

Swimming and School

It has been so incredibly hot (104 in the shade one day last week) and the girls are definitely starting to appreciate the refreshment of the swimming pool. We are fortunate in that Lee's mom and dad have a 3 footer at their house that we get to enjoy. Grace has been a little fish since she was a baby, but this has really been Lily's first summer to truly get into the process. And it has been an absolutely hilarious adventure!


Grace is always so busy swimming that this is the only picture she had time for.

The funniest thing was that completely on her own, Lily learned how to kick back, relax, and float freely around the pool. She was so cute and chill, it was hard not to catch her enthusiasm.


We also have had preschool start back for a summer session. I am back to teaching, and this was Lily's first day ever of school! Needless to say, she waved bye-bye and went straight to playing. Couldn't she miss me even a little bit?
