We hung out at their house some, ran some errands, ate yummy Chinese food (we are so deprived of this genre in Graham), and had a fierce Wii bowling battle after the girls were in bed, but the biggest adventure was to the Abilene Zoo. Totally and somewhat unexpectedly, they have a very cute smaller-style zoo. One of the most fun things there was that you could buy food to feed nearly ALL the animals (instead of just the hippos or something). They also had a very cool bridge that routed you up over the giraffe enclosure so not only were you feeding them, you were feeding them at eye level. Lily was not at all sure about this process, but the rest of us were enthralled.

Grace enjoys the lovely aroma of rhino.

And the absolute winner from the zoo, our family portrait. Doesn't it look like the giraffe is trying to join in?

Sounds like a great trip. What a wonderful idea to let everyone get close enough to the animals to feed them. Love the family portrait, too!!
