Cooking up some fun

I'm so behind on posts, but here goes.

Grace has lately gotten WAY into cooking with me. She wants to help with every step of the process from measuring to stirring to pouring and for her age is pretty successful with it. In fact, some of it is actually starting to be helpful, like the passion of late in scrubbing potatoes. (Lily, of course, "helps")

This was the first Christmas that I did roll-out cut-out cookies with her and she LOVED it. I on the other hand have at least 20 new gray hairs from stress involving throwing of flour and the demandingness of a four year old. The icing process was much more fun, and all four of us got after it.

This picture is terrible of me, but shows how excited she was:

And as anyone smart knows, the best part of cooking is licking the beaters:

Lily helped in her way also, which mostly consisted of carrying containers of sprinkles around and dancing while shaking them like maracas. That was all fine and good until the lid popped off one. Ah-oh! she kept saying over and over. She also did lots of signing and saying of the word "more" ;)
