Girls Weekend!

Weekend before last, my best bud, Katie Eubanks, and I went on a girls weekend trip to Salado. Finally. It was such a nice break: normal (or at least as normal as we two ever get) adult conversation uninterrupted by persons under 4 feet tall, all meals accounted for and not cooked or prepared in any manner by us, shopping at places that actually had ambiance and smelled not like a Wal-Mart, cruising through all the cute little shops at our own pace while never once having to sit someone back down in a metal cart or dig for peace-keeping snacks, and last but certainly not least, having the freedom to do whatever whenever we darn well felt like it! It was awesome; this was the first trip like this Kate and I had taken since college we figured out, which means we were a good 9 years overdue.

Salado (down Hwy 35 toward Austin) was an adorable little town, complete with old, vintage-feeling shops and storefronts and loads of character. We stayed at a lovely bed and breakfast just outside of town. And yes, I just used the word lovely, but that is exactly how to describe it. Just look at the walk-up that welcomed us that first night, along with the cat.

We stayed up late, we slept in late, we talked A LOT, we shopped, we ate A LOT, and all in all had a blast. Love you Kate!!!

Breakfast all ready for us, no cooking required!

Pic of Katie and me in downtown Salado. Enjoy it, because for some reason we always take pictures of our kids together and never remember to get one of the two of us.

Quiet time outside with nature and God Sunday morning on the b and b's back patio.

Gorgeous sunset God painted for us as we were driving Saturday night.
